Essential Steps for Releasing Your Limiting Beliefs

The limiting beliefs that you are told your entire life shape everything that you do. They have even prevented you from seeing new and different possibilities and stop you from creating more in your life. To identify the limiting beliefs in your life, you have to look at what's not working in your life. You have to get that what’s not working in your life is your creation and you can create what you would like to have. But, it requires you to choose differently! 

Once you've claimed, owned and acknowledged your limiting beliefs, it's time to start releasing them so you can move forward and live the life you've always dreamed of living.

Become aware of your limiting and fixed beliefs
You will have to play detective to follow your thoughts and emotions to discover your limiting beliefs. A belief is also a judgment and a fixed point of view. Every belief is a limitation. Write them down on a piece of paper and look at them. Spend some time noting how strong and fixed each of the beliefs is and what emotions they elicit from you.

Acknowledge they are beliefs and not truths
Acknowledging that these are beliefs and not truths is the hardest step in releasing your limiting beliefs. The beliefs you've held your entire life, seem like they are real. Understanding that they are not truths is fundamental. You have the choice to either continue to defend these limitations or let them go so you can create different possibilities.

What else is possible?
Choosing to ask 'What else is possible?', you can see different possibilities that are more in line with what you truly want to create as your life. It might be something like, "Now that I've been in an unhealthy relationship, I now know what to look for in a loving and happy partner." The trick to making this work is going beyond merely saying it. You have to be able to acknowledge the power of this new point of view. Don't just say it, be it. When you can do this, the first two steps will go a long way to dismantling your current limiting beliefs.

Be and do something different
Being and doing something different can be a little bit scary, but in order to release your old beliefs that have been limiting your prospects, you have to be willing to be and do something totally different. If you avoid taking any steps toward different possibilities, you will merely be feeding your old limiting beliefs and will continue to fail to create the life you desire. Making even the smallest step will help to create something different and destroy your old limiting beliefs.

Allowing these to continue to dominate your life will only continue your disappointment in not being able to create the life you desire. Choosing to be and do something different will allow you to begin thinking in a different, more productive way and eliminate the self-limiting beliefs that have always held you back.
