As I sit here writing this blog, looking at the photographs of my daughter Sharidan’s recent wedding, I am filled with a great deal of pleasure and delight. This was such a joyful and momentous time in my life. A beautiful and awe-inspiring occasion for our family. Best wedding ever. And pure magic on so many levels.
Though the wedding photographer had captured the momentous occasion for posterity, my most personal memories are more about the moment my daughter and I both spotted the gorgeous wedding gown for her and the perfect dress for me, hanging out over lunch between appointments, laughing about the gritty realities of what it would take to create the perfect, magical event for her. Wasn’t it just yesterday that she was taking her first steps, then trotting off to school, graduating from university? .... and now she is getting married!
I want to share a few highlights with you.
One of the most fun and memorable of mother of the bride activities is shopping for the bridal gown.
On her wedding day, my eyes filled with tears as Sharidan pinned the flower on my dress.
